2022

‘Slab Ceremony’ a reconstruction of a fictitious funeral ceremony for X MUSEUM in Beijing.

During the ceremony a piece of the corpse’s flesh is crushed with clay and pressed into tiles that are imprinted with a unique symbol by a priest. The tiles are fired during the cremation of the body.

The project incorporated a physical display in the museum and a virtual recreation of both the temple and the room in the museum. Due to covid the show was canceled leaving the work unfinished.
